| Welcome to the Artichoke Restaurant.
Set in the beautiful medieval town of Old Amersham in the Chiltern Hills just a short distance from the hustle and bustle of the City of London, the Artichoke offers a relaxed setting, with muted neutral shades combined with the period features of a 16th Century building - which feature origninal beams and a vast open fireplace - updated with modern contemporary art and smart Italian leather. At the Artichoke, subtle refined modern French cookery blend to make this a personable, tasteful place offering intimate dining. 'Laurie Gear is a formidable talent, mobilising tradition and contemporary fashion to a productive effect' Good Food Guide 2008 news Unfortunately the Artichoke has been damaged by a fire in Mid June 2008 from a neighbouring restaurant and will be closed for a refurbishment.
